International Cooperation

ERASMUS (EPS) STRATEGY DECLARATION
Our institution can boast of its now extensive experience in the field of Erasmus student mobility, being one of the first Italian conservatories to have joined the LLP project (Lifelong Learning Programme). The main goals pursued since the beginning have been: • To strengthen the excellency of the institution, contributing to the development of quality learning and encouraging high results, through innovation and by reaching a European dimension. • To contribute to improving the quality, attractiveness and accessibility of the learning opportunities available in our institution, making our professionalism known and creating mutually beneficial collaborations in a perspective of both openness to dialogue and growth. Partners are generally chosen on the basis of personal contacts between those belonging to the various European institutions, assessing the possibility of dialogue and cooperation and taking into consideration the particular requests of the students and teachers, or of specific projects in progress. In the last five years the aim has been to increase the number of institutional agreements, which currently amount to almost 80. The precise aim of this action is to offer more opportunities to our students and faculty members, thereby also resulting in greater visibility for our institution.

ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education)
In January 2014 the conservatory received from the European Commission the official announcement of the granting of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) for the entire period of the Erasmus+ program 2014/2020. The Charter allows the Conservatory to take part in all European and international cooperation and mobility activities, starting from the 2014/15 academic year, as part of the new Erasmus+ Program for education and training 2014-2020.

STRATEGY FOR ORGANIZING AND IMPLEMENTING INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
Since 2007 the Conservatory of Trieste has been a partner of the KTEU Consortium, led by the University of Udine, the first Italian consortium to unite universities and conservatories in the organization of Work-Study Placement. Since 2010 it has been a partner in the Working With Music project, of which it was the promoter together with the Conservatory of Frosinone and L’Aquila. The Working with Music+ Consortium continues within the Erasmus+ Program the Leonardo da Vinci PLM (People in the Labour Market) mobility project, intended for young graduates of the Italian music conservatories. The project has reached its fourth edition, enabling 130 young musicians to achieve internships within European musical organizations. The main objective is to provide links with the labour market during the study courses, offering post-graduation internships and thereby putting them forward as a vital link between education and profession. Having increased over the years, the project today has about fifteen Italian high-culture musical institutions participating, which share a vast network of musical organizations and institutions in Europe. It avails itself of a website (www. workingwithmusic.net), the purpose of which is to display its achievements, but also to be used as an actual work tool. The partners of the Consortium get together annually in order to discuss, collaborate and work on the improvement of the projects. As for the cooperation projects addressed to the staff, the constant increase of the mobility number shows the interest of the teachers of our institution in comparing and broadening their knowledge in an international context, as well as the encouragement on behalf of the institution to mobility and to the consolidation of fruitful collaborations, which may offer relevant opportunities for growth and also provide a point of reference for the students.
