Dejan Janković is a pianist and piano teacher from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He finished bachelor studies at the Academy of Arts in Banja Luka in 2012, majoring in piano in the class of prof. Nevena Popović and the following year completed master’s studies in piano at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the same class. He completed doctoral studies in piano in 2017, under the mentorship of prof. Ph.D. Vladimir Cvijić at Faculty of music in Belgrade. From the academic year 2014/2015 he has been employed at the Academy of Arts of the University of Banja Luka, currently at the position of an associate professor. Since 2018 prof. Jankovic has been the head of piano and accordion department and the academic coordinator for the international exchange of students and staff.

He participated at numerous piano competitions in the country and abroad, where he achieved significant results, of which the following stand out:

  • First prize and laureate in the oldest category of the Davorin Jenko International Competition in Belgrade (2014)
  • Finalist of the Piano Competition of the Danube Countries in Ulm, where he goes as a representative of FMU Belgrade (2014)
  • First prize and laureate in the oldest category of the Banja Luka Biennale International Competition (2010, 2012)
  • Third prize at the International Piano Competition “F. Chopin” in Rome (2011)
  • First prize at the European Music Competition in Turin (2010)

He has played played about 50 solo recitals and the same number of chamber recitals, and made numerous appearances throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Belgium, France, Germany and Spain. He also played several times as a soloist with the orchestras from Bosnia and Heregovina and Serbia. He participated in numerous music festivals in the country and abroad and has been jury member of international and domestic piano competitions.
