Magdalini Kalopana - lecture

23 febbraio 2023

  • 09:00 - 10:30 Sala Tartini

The historical overview of the connections between Italy and Greece indicates a vivid musical interaction. Composers of Greek origin have a career in the fertile environment of Trieste in the 20th century (Michele Eulambio, Giorgio Cambissa, Marco Sofianopulo). Vice versa, Italian composers of 19th century join remarkably the music life of the Ionian Islands (Domenico Liberalli, Giuseppe Castignace) and Athens (Ignazio and Raffaele Parisini). Musical excerpts from representative works reveal the creativeintegration of elements on both sides.

The lecture will be held in English
